heavy cream

sea salt

vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
Melt the sugar:
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the sugar, stirring constantly. It may clump at first—don’t panic.
Add the butter:
Carefully stir in the butter once the sugar is fully melted. The mixture will bubble up, so go slow.
Incorporate the cream:
Slowly pour in the heavy cream while whisking. Keep whisking until smooth.
Season:
Stir in sea salt and vanilla extract. Taste and adjust salt if needed.
Cool & store:
Let the sauce cool slightly, then pour into a jar. Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. Warm gently before using.
