Instructions
Pour the caramel sauce into a small sauce pan over low heat. You want gentle warmth, not a caramel inferno.
Whisk in the heavy cream, if using. Add a pinch of salt and the vanilla.
Keep stirring until the mixture is smooth and glossy. Don’t rush this—silky caramel is a luxury, not a sprint.
Remove from heat. If it thickens a bit after cooling, warm it briefly and stir to loosen.
Let it cool slightly before dipping. It thickens as it sits, which is perfect for dipping but not if you want a pour.
