Spicy Everything Bagel Seasoning: Fire Up Snacks

Prep Time5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp poppy seeds
  • 2 tbsp dried minced onion
  • 2 tbsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp kosher salt or flaky sea salt
  • 1 tbsp crushed red pepper flakes (adjust for heat)
  • 1 tbsp black sesame seeds (optional for color and crunch)
  • 1 tsp white sesame seeds (extra texture, because why not)
  • Pinch of chili powder (optional for deeper heat)

Instructions

  • Toast the seeds lightly in a dry skillet over medium heat for 2–3 minutes until fragrant. Stir constantly so they don’t burn. This wakes up their flavor.
  • Let the mixture cool for a few minutes. Mixing warm seeds with spices is a recipe for clumping—let it stop sweating, then proceed.
  • Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Stir until evenly distributed. If you can’t tell the sesame from the onion, you did it right.
  • Transfer to an airtight jar. Label it “Spicy Everything” so everyone knows you’re serious about flavor, not improvisation.
  • Use generously on bagels, eggs, avocado toast, popcorn, roasted veggies, or anything that needs a kick. No guilt trips here—just bold snacks.
